Obesity in children alters drug exposure, pharmacokinetics
KEY POINT
A systematic review of 20 studies revealed clinically significant pharmacokinetic alterations in children compared with control participants who were not obese for more than one-half of the drugs studied, with meaningful differences in drug exposure seen in approximately 40% of drugs studied.
