Supplementation or Screening?

KEY POINT

Screening for elevated total plasma homocyst( e)ine (tHcy) levels—and treatment of patients with high concentrations—is more cost-effective than universal daily supplementation with folic acid and vitamin B12, according to an analysis of clinical and economic implications of recent research.
