Benefits of long-term alendronate use may outweigh risks

Long-term use of alendronate, including more than 10 years of continuous use, was not associated with an increased risk of subtrochanteric femur and femoral shaft (ST/FS) fractures and was associated with a reduction in hip fractures, according to results of an observational study published online in the British Medical Journal.
