Hearts aflutter: Atrial fib guidelines released

KEY POINT

The use of new oral anticoagulants in management of atrial fibrillation (AF) is an important element in a recently updated clinical guideline, which also introduces, a more comprehensive thromboembolic risk calculator, downgrades the role of aspirin, and encourages broader use of ablation therapy.
