New bronchiolitis guidelines: Avoid bronchodilators, corticosteroids
KEY POINT
The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) released updated guidelines for the diagnosis, management, and prevention of bronchiolitis. Treatment recommendations focused on which medications should not be administered to infants and toddlers with bronchiolitis, including albuterol or other bronchodilators, epinephrine, systemic corticosteroids, and others.
