Fewer CV events observed in patients with diabetes receiving intensive glycemic therapy plus beta blockers

KEY POINT

Intensive glycemic therapy in patients with type 2 diabetes who were also receiving beta blockers was associated with a reduction in the risk of cardiovascular (CV) events compared with those on standard therapy plus beta blockers, according to results of a post-hoc analysis of data from the Action to Control Cardiovascular Risk in Diabetes (ACCORD) trial.
