Updated recommendations for pneumococcal, tetanus, and influenza immunizations

KEY POINT

Updates to the 2013 Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) Adult Immunization Schedule included first-time recommendations for use of the 13-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV13) and an updated schedule for vaccinating adults, including pregnant females, against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis. Revised recommendations for administering influenza vaccine to individuals with egg allergy were also provided. These updates were adopted by ACIP in 2012.
