Statins Found to Reduce Coenzyme Q10 Levels

KEY POINT

Decreases in serum coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) levels appear to be a class effect of statins, and CoQ10 supplementation may be reasonable in patients at risk of muscle-related toxicities of the lipid-lowering agents.
