Statins in older adults: Individualizing drug therapy choices

KEY POINT

The initiation of statin therapy in adults older than 80 years of age with hypercholesterolemia should be individualized and account for frailty, comorbid conditions, and concurrent medications, according to a clinical review published in the September 17 issue of JAMA.
