Lansoprazole Superior to Ranitidine for Healing NSAID-Associated Ulcers

KEY POINT

When patients require continuous therapy with NSAIDs, the proton pump inhibitor lansoprazole (Prevacid— TAP Pharmaceuticals) is preferred over the histamine H2 antagonist ranitidine (Zantac—Glaxo Wellcome) for healing of gastric ulcers, according to results of a recently published study.
