Cefazolin for definitive treatment of MSSA infections complicated by bacteremia

KEY POINT

Use of cefazolin for the treatment of methicillin-susceptible Staphylococcus aureus (MSSA) infections resulted in a greater reduction in 30- and 90-day mortality compared with treatment with nafcillin or oxacillin, according to results of a retrospective analysis published online in Clinical Infectious Diseases.
