Childhood deaths from S. pneumoniae, H. influenzae high in developing countries

KEY POINT

The first global estimates of diseases caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae and Haemophilus influenzae type b in children 1 month to 5 years of age show that infections caused by these bacteria continue to cause substantial morbidity and mortality in young children, particularly in parts of Africa and Asia.
