APA guidance on use of antipsychotics in patients with dementia and agitation or psychosis

In May, the American Psychiatric Association (APA) released guidelines on the use of antipsychotics to treat agitation or psychosis in patients with dementia that focused on assessment of symptoms; development of a comprehensive treatment plan; benefits and risks of antipsychotics; and dosing, duration, and monitoring of treatment.
