Genetics Involved in Weight Gain with Atypical Antipsychotic Agents

In addition to previously reported associations between microsomal polymorphisms and weight gain with atypical antipsychotic agents, Asian patients—especially men—with variants in the promoter region of the serotonin 5- HT2C receptor gene seem to have more tendency to gain weight during clozapine therapy.
