As dry-powder inhalers (DPIs) become more common in clinical practice, patients who have used metered-dose inhalers (MDIs) previously are encountering difficult-to-master differences in administration technique. In particular, for patients who must switch back and forth between MDIs and DPIs, the differences in actuation, inhalation, and inhaler care are bothersome.
